Grupo Modelo opens world's second-largest brewery in terms of volume

In just two years, Constellation Brands, Inc. expanded the existing capacity of its Nava Brewery in Mexico by 250 percent, making it the worlds largest brewery. The red outline marks the size of the original facility.

The joint venture of Gilbane Alberici Construcciones Mexico (GACM) provided construction management and general contracting services for the expansion of Constellation Brands brewery in Nava, Mexico.

The U.S. brewery conglomerate has announced continued strong investment in Mexico, including a new brewery site in the state of Veracruz.

In addition to the company's plans to build the Mexicali brewery, the company has plans to further expand the Nava brewery with a 2.5 million hectoliter capacity expansion that will bring production capacity from 25 to 27.5 million hectoliters when completed.
